Muslims demand ban on anti-national organisation

Belagavi: Several leaders from Muslim community staged a protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner in Belagavi demanding an immediate ban of anti-national right-wing organisation which is spreading communal hatred and dividing the society on religious lines in the state. This particular organisation is involved in poisoning the minds of majority Hindu community against muslims in the state and spreading venom into society, particular in areas of coastal Karnataka, North and Hyderabad-Karnataka.

Staging the protest in front of DC office, leaders of the community irrespective of their political affiliation condemned the government’s silence over the
continued atrocities, attacks and anti-national activities of some right-wing organisations while stating that the claims of the state government that it is
secular and would not let anybody damage the secular fabric as absolutelyChief farce.
In their memorandum to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the protesters highlighted the way the so-called Hindu-supporters resorting to anti-Muslim acts
in the state citing the example of how the cordial gesture of Sri Pejawar Swamy to host an iftaar gathering for Muslims at Krishna Mutt in Udupi recently
was vehemently opposed by a particular fundamental organisation. It was nothing but an anti-Muslim agenda of this organisation to create communal
tension in the state, leaders stated in memorandum.
A series of such anti-minority incidents being perpetrated openly have not only made the second-highest population of muslims in the state vulnerable
but also raised serious questions of their security and safety in the state under the Congress party’s rule today.
The state government failed to initiate stringent measures against all anti-national fundamental organisations which dared the government by adopting an anti-minority stand. All mischief mongers from these fundamental organisation are hand-in-glove with the government machinery, particularly the police department and resorting to illegal activities with the indirect support of people in power, they alleged.
While warning the government that the minority community would be compelled to take a serious decision on its political stand, the protestors said, the government to straighten up things and ban the anti-national fundamentalist organisations immediately and initiate action sgainst the mischief-mongers
